Duet partners do not have to meet at the level or have the same goals to practice together. These sessions too, are individualized and each movement serves purpose.

Pilates is beneficial to all bodies. You do not need to lose weight or be flexible to start. Pilates improves strength, flexibility and posture. Pilates can alleviate body pain including back pain. Pilates reduces muscle imbalances, promotes body awareness, improves balance and builds coordination. Pilates is used to recover from surgeries and injuries, as well as prepare for surgeries and reduce the risk of injuries. Pilates started as rehabilitation to hurt soldiers in WW1 when Joe Pilates used springs from hospital beds to heal and recover. Pilates is great for cross training and aids ability in other higher impact activities. Pilates is for everybody. My current clients have all started pilates and it has been beneficial to those with hip and knee replacements, spinal stenosis, osteoporosis, ankle injuries, general back pain, disc injuries (degenerative, slipped, bulging, herniated), vertigo, ruptured Achilles, etc. It has also aided clients with weight loss, improved long distance running, improved tennis and pickle-ball games and assisted professional dancers and athletes perfect their craft.
